Summer: Author Study

This summer, we didn't start a project instead we did an author study. In the afternoon class, we read books from Kevin Henkes while in the morning class, we read books from Mo Willems. With the afternoon class, we talked about the characters, settings, problems, and solutions after every 3rd or 4th read in poster form. Apart from that children get intense intervention this summer for their literacy skills. We also kept creating wonderful artworks. To enjoy the warm days, we took long neighborhood walks, we talked about what we might see, make a list and children tried to find all the things on the list. But when the days get too hot, we burned our energy indoor with mats, balls, hula hoops and tunnels. ​
