On September 26th, we had our first Parent-Child class for the school year. We had help from U of M Health & Nutrition Program Educator, Ms. Selah Michele. She talked about how to help children try new food and include them in snack prep. She also presented parents with tips for providing healthy snacks and answered personal questions from parents. We concluded the session by making our own snack: fruit salsa with cinnamon chips. Parents went home with a few recipes that they can try at home with their children.
