Our Family

After we learned about the community in the classroom, we spread out to community in the children's home, their family. Our pretend center is kitchen in a home with baby seat and baby toys where children can pretend to be a mom, dad, brother, sister even pet. At our table beside play dough, we made our own kinetic sand. It's very interesting to the touch, moldable but crumbly. Since it's fall, we brought in pumpkin for the children to play and later on, we brought gourds for them to feel the bump and wondering what kind of vegetable those are. We put rocks and constructions vehicles for children to play at the sensory table. For art, we made feather painting, monster leaf, noisy painting (with traffic noise, things falling on the floor and storms) and we drew our favorite pet. In our discussion, we talked about our senses, what is inside a pumpkin and good pet vs bad pet.
