Life on a Farm

Our spring started with theme about life on a farm. We flipped our castle into a farm facing the red part out. Then we asked the children what can we do to decorate our farm, the ideas that came from the children were super amazing. Some says we should make a door, then weather vanes, we should make a sun and moon so we know it's day or night, we should decorate it with flowers and more (you can check all their ideas in the pictures). We painted, we cut, we pasted, we colored, we taped and you can see the transformation. This spring we had a lot of rain and when it rained, we saw a lot of worms on the sidewalk. This of course, piqued the interest of the children. We had discussions of what they know about worms and what they wanted to know about worms. Once we had them written, we did some researching by looking at books about worms, checking the internet and we even brought them inside the class for the children to touch and feel (we discussed the rules on how to play with the worms). After that we asked the children what should we do with the worms and the dirt, they came up with the idea of put some seeds so plants can grow because they learned that worms help plants grow. So we did! At the end of the theme, we asked the children what they learned about worms (check out the poster! did you know that worms have five hearts?)
When we got to letter Ww, we decided to have a Ww Party so we all came in White outfit, we had watermelon and waffle for snack and we read "The Three Little Wolves And The Big Bad Pig."
The letters we learned this theme are...
The books we read this theme are...
