Meet our staff

Nichole Jensen-Manager of Education

 Nichole Jensen is the Manager of Education for Way to Grow.  She oversees the Way to Grow Preschool as well as the home visiting preschool through third grade training and curriculum. Nichole has her bachelor's and master's degrees in Elementary Education and has taught a variety of ages from Preschool to First grade. With a background as a classroom teacher, curriculum developer, and leader, she brings both research-based expertise and lived experience to her efforts in building inclusive, evidence-based curriculum and classroom. Outside of work Nichole likes to garden, camp, hike, and read.

Craig Allen-Education Coordinator, PM Support

​​Craig is the Education Coordinator for the preschool program and a regular substitute teacher in the classroom.  His first assignment for Way to Grow, over 10 years ago, was as a Preschool Literacy Tutor for Minnesota Reading Corps teaching Letter Names and Letter Sounds, Rhyming and Alliteration. After his tutor program finished, Way to Grow hired Craig as a Preschool Teacher. Eventually Craig became an Internal Coach where he supervised the literacy work of the Reading Corps Tutors. Craig has a B.A. degree in Political Science from American University and a J.D. degree from Hamline University School of Law.  During his free time, Craig plays percussion with the Minnesota State Band which plays concerts throughout the year in the Twin Cities and regularly tours throughout the state.         

Olivia Sheehan-AM Lead Teacher, PM Support

Olivia Sheehan is one of the Lead Preschool Teachers for Way to Grow. She is the Lead Teacher for the Morning Class and also provides support for the Afternoon Class. Olivia has her CDA (Child Development Associate) credential and a has a great passion for education. In her classroom, Olivia believes in taking a play-based learning approach but also enjoys creating enriching group activities for her students. Whether it is phonetics, science, art, or math, she always wants learning to be a fun and joyful experience. Outside the classroom, Olivia loves to bike, bake, and hangout with her cat.​

Ramona Awuah-PM Lead Teacher, AM Support

 Ramona is a lead preschool teacher at Way to Grow with a love for creativity and authenticity. With a background in early childhood care and a degree in culinary arts, she also runs her own bakery! Ramona’s teaching philosophy centers on helping children learn through exploration and understanding, guiding them to think for themselves.
When she's not teaching, Ramona enjoys reading, painting, hiking, making music, traveling, and snuggling with her kitty. She’s passionate about all things artsy and loves bringing creativity into everything she does!​

Willie Lane-Bus Driver

Often the first and last Way to Grow employee our preschool students see, Mr. Willie Lane makes it a point to be not just a driver, but an integral part of their lives every day.
“We bond because I listen to them. Sometimes they have problems, sometimes they have concerns, and sometimes they just want someone to talk to,” Mr. Willie explains. “Each child is different, and they are so intelligent and energetic. When I look at our bus, I see that we have the makings of future lawyers, doctors, politicians—almost every type of position that will contribute to our community in the future.”
Outside of work, Mr. Willie enjoys gardening and dancing, two passions that bring him both joy and balance.

Marisa McKinley-Classroom Substitute, Family Educator

Marisa McKinley is a family educator who works for Way to Grow. She supports and works with families in their homes, promoting healthy pregnancies, child development, and school readiness by educating parents on prenatal care, early learning, and positive parenting. Marisa has her CDA (Child Development Associate) and a passion for working with all ages and families. You may see her subbing at the preschool on occasion. Outside of work she goes to esthetician school to be a licensed esthetician. ​

Pamela Khang-Classroom Substitute, Program Specialist

Pamela Khang is the Program Specialist for Way to Grow, where she helps support staff and managers while overseeing programs that empower families through health and education. You may see her at the preschool subbing occasionally. Pamela has her bachelor’s in public health and has worked in varies setting working family and children. With extensive experience working alongside children and families in the community, Pamela has dedicated her career to fostering strong, equitable opportunities for growth and well-being. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys reading, hiking, family time, and exploring new places.
